ITP Steel: Industrial Water Use and Its Energy Implications
Industry-wide, boiler use accounts for 22% of steel sector energy consumption and 3% of all industrial manufacturing energy consumed nationwide. Recent estimates have predicted a decline in the growth rate of steel industry process steam utilization from 1.7% to 0.3% per five year period (Jaber & Jones 1999, 2).
