You use a pilot and a seat and guide machine . It could be done on a mill too ( I don't know if they use a airfloat table on the milling table) . I have a sunnen vgs20 . I have the goodson adjustable counterbores (very expensive) but it is well worth it cause I could do all the sizes I want . Well I can't do realy small bike stuff .

The whole point of using a Bridgeport to cut seats is because it has more heft and stability to reduce deflection vs most of your average S&G machines. If you get your spindle centered and parallel to your valve guide hole, the mill will do a much better job than the loose setup of a valve guide machine. I bought some Sykes picovant valve seat cutters and they did help to remove the step in the seat, however they took a lot of lapping in of the valve afterwards. Maybe from a worn guide or the pilot wasn't quite the right size.

The exhaust is also harder to cut on the clones if I am not changing the exhaust seat. With the mill and the 3 angle cutter it takes a lot of time getting the pilot in alignment with the spindle driver for the cutter. One that is done the seat comes out perfect, I still do lap with 800 grit to see where the seat is.
